What is VOB 9009:2013?
VOB 9009 is an industry specific quality standard for the American Veteran Owned Business (VOB). It is the country’s only quality-focused certification program specifically for businesses owned by veterans. VOB 9009 is suitable for all retired and active duty military, reservist, service disabled veteran (SDVOSB) or military or veteran spouse of the United States Army (USARMY), Air Force (USAF), Marine Corps (USMC), Navy (USN), Coast Guard (USCG) and National Guard.

What Are The Requirements and Criteria For VOB 9009 Eligibility?
In order to be eligible for VOB 9000 certification, applicants must be registered as a Veteran-owned business in the VetBiz Database, which is operated by US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA). In addition, because VOB 9009 is a quality certification program based on the ISO 9001 methodologies, applicants are required to provide verifiable customer reviews to be analyzed by our Board of Advisors.

In contrast, VOB 9009:2013 system accreditation is based on highly specialized standards designed to support to Veteran Owned Businesses while following the principles of ISO 9001:2008 and other quality standard. VOB 9009 standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, and continual improvement of your management system.

Is VOB 9009 Accredited by an Internationally Recognized Accreditation Body?
VOB 9009 is accredited by a number of internationally recognized accredited bodies such as the American Board of Accredited Certifications (ABAC), the Industrial Leaders Group (ILG), the Global Quality Assurance Committee (GQAC) as well as regional accreditation groups, signatories and observer committees. ABAC’s Board of Advisers consists primarily of retired Veterans.

Which Registrars Are Authorized to Issue VOB 9009 Certificates?
Registration companies, also known as certification bodies (CBs) authorized to issue VOB 9009:2013 certifications must be accredited by an internationally recognized accreditation body such as the American Board of Accredited Certifications (ABAC), the Global Quality Assurance Committee (GQAC), or equivalent. Authorized registrars must show proof their accreditation is valid and guaranteed in writing.
